Tooting My Own Horn

I'm beyond excited!!!!

I got a job teaching 1st grade next year! When I entered my teacher certification program 3 years ago, I never figured I'd get a job before I even graduated (especially with the current state of the economy). I feel so blessed and a little overwhelmed all at the same time!

I'm going to miss the wonderful team I worked with this year, but we'll still be in the same district so we can team virtually right?!

Now I can plan, relax, plan, recoup, and plan over the summer instead of job hunt! Sounds like a great summer to me. Just sprinkle in a cruise, Disney Land, road trips, and sunshine and it will be perfect. Only 11 more days and I'm there! First, I should go....

meet my new principal and team next week:)

Praying for all the other WWU graduates from Cohorts 32 and 34 to find the same success I have!

Happy Teaching!

Sprucing Up Word Work

So it's April, are your kiddos getting bored with their word work options? Well mine are...dough stamping just doesn't hold the same pizazz as it once did.

Superman to the rescue...I wish

Well maybe a little technology is just as good as the man of steal! I've been asking the kids what they'd like to do instead and most of them said "computers" imagine that. So, I ran with it. Tomorrow, I'll be adding 6 laptops and 5 iPads to my technology stash. I know aren't ya'll jealous and wondering how I've been so blessed.

Hehe...the kiddos are going to have to use their imaginations with these babies!

First, I found a wonderful iPad freebie from Mrs.Gilchrist's Class blog. Hop on over to grab your own copy. All you have to do is print, laminate, and use expo markers:-)

Well, iPad's certainly weren't enough so I made my own laptops with a screen shot from mine and some great input from all three of the boys so it would be realistic. I'm super excited to introduce these and think my kids are going to squeal with delight. I think I'm going to make a couple more with just a blank page or email template for writing too. Who said it needed to be permanent right?

Hope everyone enjoys the sunshine here in Western Washington today!
